I was just having this conversation with my wife. She has a nasty case of the "self-doubt" blues as she finishes her latest work. She doesn't think it 'compares' with the others who, in her view, make better art.
So, I spent the morning explaining that her art is who she IS and to not create for the purpose of pleasing others, one must express that feeling in the soul yearning to break free!
Then as she was about to go to the studio, I showed her your cartoon!!!
Living to please others ain't no way to go through life, only YOU can be you, and damn the detractors. Nobody understood some of the greats until after they were gone.
Like many creatives, we all need a pat on the back at times in order to feel validated. I get it.
I've got oodles of her work on my Substack, one look and your jaw will hit the floor!
She will be okay once it is complete.
That evil monster of self-doubt can eat one alive.
