One of the only physical magazines I subscribed to over the past few years was The Happy Reader - a delightful publication completely centered around books, reading books, and the love of books. Seb was the editor of said magazine, and his newsletter continues the work he started there. If you love books too, you'll find a lot to like.
Phil Elverum is one of my all-time favorite musicians, and not only because his songs are so phenomenal - but also because of the way he approaches releasing his work into the world in magnificent physical packages, and for his general approach to living a creative life in these wonky modern times.
Walter is a great songwriter (and I'm not just saying that because I did the artwork for his latest album) - his work with The Walkmen is stellar, as are his records for kids and adults - I don't know if he plans on using his Substack regularly or not, but you should give him a follow just in case! And definitely snap up his records.
Carson is a stellar artist, and this occasional newsletter is a delight. You might know her from illustrations on Decemberists albums or from beautiful picture books. As the title implies, Slowpoke doesn't come out frequently, but when it does it's a real treat.
